This guide assumed you have already signed up to PayPal (If none, follow this link to create one), and has BDO ATM Debit Card with a minimum deposit of 200Php which will be used for PayPal account verification. The bank sampled here is BDO, but similar Philippines based bank like Union Bank offers the same feature with their so called EON Debit Card. SmartMoney could also be used, check out my other post on "How to Link Smart Money to Verify PayPal Account"
1. Simply enroll to BDO's internet banking by logging to https://www.mybdo.com.ph , click enroll and follow the instruction to print, fill-up form, and submit to any BDO branch (after a week or so, you will receive an email notifying you're approved). If not enrolling online, you can also ask a hard-copy of statement of account from any branch (charges may apply).
2. Login to your PayPal account and click Get Verified.
3. Fill up the form asking for details about your Debit Card, then click continue (The name on your BDO Debit Card should match the name on your PayPal account for it to work). It will ask for a 4 digit pin code, just skip it for now and do item #4.
4. Log-in to your online BDO Account. Click on My Portfolio, then My Transaction. Set the date to let's say Last 7 Days. Look for a transaction line similar to POS W/D SV PP (1142 E 3xxxxxxxxx MC SGP 0xxxxxxxxxxx). Your 4-digit pin code is 1142 in this sample.
5. Back to PayPal in item #3, enter the 4-digit pin code and hit verify/continue. Now you're verified (should look similar to the screenshot). The charge made by PayPal (roughly $2) will be credited back to your PayPal fund.
Having a PayPal verified account means you would gain more buying/selling acceptance privileges to other sellers/buyers. Verification thru Credit Card is also possible though it would take a while and wait for the statement of account cycle to get the 4 digit pin code.
this is very helpful. thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteApplicable din po ba ito sa BDO Savings account? Verification lang naman kailangan ko. I don't need to transfer the money from paypal to BDO.
ReplyDeleteSadly nope, savings account is a localized account. Generally only debit card that is member of VISA/MASTERCARD could be used.
ReplyDeleteNone yet. You can only link a bank account for withdrawal purposes, but not for depositing money from bank to paypal.
ReplyDeleteAt first I was unable to get my PayPal verified with creditcard but after few research I used Entropay.
ReplyDeleteEntroypay has helped me a lot till now in lot of payments.
I got my PayPal verified. I have also written a review on entropay Card you can check it here:-

Hope it helps….. :-)
I tried using my BDO ATM debit card to verify my account at Paypal, but it didn't work out. It has a logo of Mastercard that's why I thought it would be acceptable. What's wrong?
ReplyDeletethis is very helpful :)
ReplyDeletefirst of all. before linking any bank account or credit card in paypal. the card must be enrolled for online banking. :D
ReplyDeleteI am hesitant to this but I hope it works. I am still planning to transfer my paypal funds to BDO debit card.
ReplyDeleteAs for my experience, I found EON debit very useful if you want to get verified easily in paypal.
